Stonereefs
FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What species does a StoneReefs module attract?+

Our modules are optimised for mussels, oysters, barnacles, sea anemones, and juvenile fish. Within 6–12 months of installation, most modules host 15–20 invertebrate species, depending on local water conditions.

How long does installation take?+

A standard reef module cluster can be installed in a single day using conventional harbour equipment. No diving or specialist marine contractors are required for most installations.

What permits are needed to install a reef module in Denmark?+

Most harbour installations fall under existing maritime maintenance exemptions. We handle the environmental documentation and liaise with relevant authorities as part of our installation package.

How is biodiversity measured after installation?+

We use photo-monitoring and species count surveys at 3, 6, and 12 months. Subscribers receive a biodiversity report with species count, coverage percentage, and comparison to baseline.

What is the lifespan of a reef module?+

Our modules are designed for 25+ year structural lifespan. The bioactive surface continues to develop over time — older modules typically show greater species richness than new ones.
